Since Rilmac was founded in 1957 they have always looked to give something back to the local community. This can take the form of charitable donations, fundraising, sponsoring grassroots sport, provide services, or running successful charity events. At the end of May the Rilmac Group teamed up with the St Barnabas Charity to organise a fundraising golf day. All the businesses in the group were represented, inviting along key clients and suppliers to what turned out to be an excellent day’s golf.
Twenty four teams from local Lincolnshire businesses made a sizeable donation to enter, with other local businesses sponsoring holes across the Lincoln (Torksey) Golf Course, who were hosting the event. There was also a raffle, and a ‘sixth hole challenge’ competition, each raising more funds for St Barnabas. Streets Accountants were the worthy winners in the day. Of course the biggest winners were the St Barnabas Hospice, who received a donation of £5,393 after an enjoyable day’s entertainment.
“It was a fantastic day, and a great effort from everyone at Rilmac, especially Rob Harris who was an enthusiastic and energetic organiser,” said Caroline Swindin, Corporate Fundraiser for St Barnabas, “a big thank you to all the teams who entered and for such a wonderful donation; this will make a huge difference to the care and support we are able to provide to our patients and their families throughout Lincolnshire living with a terminal or life limiting illness. Partnership working with local companies like Rilmac is vital to St Barnabas both in helping to raise awareness and understanding of our diverse range of services and raising the money we need to enable us to continue to deliver our care and support.”
Rob Harris added, “St Barnabas provide an important service to the local community and do a great deal of good work. Rilmac are proud to have been able to help such a worthwhile cause. I would also like to thank everyone who entered and supported the day.”
