The Rilmac Group has been supporting the community, and grass roots sport, for many years. Therefore, with employees Harry Cowles, Sam Cowles, and Conor Morgan all regularly appearing for the Lincoln Rugby Club first XV, Rilmac Insulation & Asbestos Services were eager to support their team. Tight head prop Sam works at Insulation, while his brother, flanker Harry, who is also captain of Lincoln RFC, and centre Conor are both employed at Asbestos Services. It is proving to be a championship season for the lads and Lincoln Rugby Club!
Their recent 45 – 29 win over Rolls Royce not only saw the team promoted to Midlands 2 East (North) but also meant they won the title with four matches still to play. An outstanding achievement. Lincoln Rugby Club are also still in the cup and are hoping to add further glory to their excellent season. So far they have won 16 of the 17 matches played in the league, and are unbeaten in all competitions in 2017 to date.
It is not without some pride that the Rilmac logo is visible on the back of Lincoln jerseys every time they go over for a try.
“It was an up and down game and a bit of a roller coaster,” said Lincoln RFC Captain and Rilmac Asbestos Services Contracts Coordinator Harry Cowles of the title winning match. “They started in front and then we got it back. Rolls Royce were right on our heels again, but we knuckled down in the end and got the deserved victory.”
“It means everything. It is what you go out to do.” he added, “Winning the league is the most important thing as you want to see the club move forward. The league is the priority, but we still have a cup final to look forward to.”
Congratulations to Harry, Sam and Conor, and the rest of the hardworking and triumphant Lincoln Rugby Club first XV!
