As the development of the new Lincoln Eastern By-pass continues Rilmac Scaffolding are proud to be part of this important project.  The new road will help alleviate traffic build-up in the city and improve infrastructure in the area.  This involvement has included the provision of scaffolding for a large new road bridge which crosses the Market Rasen railway line.

Having already provided the scaffolding for the pouring of concrete for the bridge abutments Rilmac also provided the access required when the four 108-tonne, 41m, steel sections were lifted in to position.  The process took 12 hours through the night with the rail line closed by Network Rail for the duration.  Rilmac scaffolders were on hand during the night shift to provide access routes on to the newly positioned bridge sections and to allow for the uncoupling of the crane slings.

“This is a very important part of the whole by-pass development,” said Des Booth, Managing Director of Rilmac Scaffolding, “and we are very proud to have been involved.  This is just the kind of challenge we like to take on and one of the drivers in our attaining RISQS accreditation.  Congratulations to all the Rilmac staff involved.”
